The Mission
Jesus Christ calls the Church to go make disciples, baptize them, and teach them all He has taught His disciples. (Matthew 28:19-20) Here at New Life Bible Church it is our mission to walk along side our church members as well as the people of our community teaching them the word of God.
The Vision
"And he answered, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind, and your neighbor as yourself.” - Luke 10:27
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
- Matthew 28:19-20
"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
- Matthew 28:19-20
Love God.
In three of the four Gospels (Matthew 22:37, Mark 12:30, and Luke 10:27) a conversation is recorded between Jesus and the Sadducees in which the Sadducees ask Jesus what the most important commandment is. His response was not only to love God, but to love Him wholly and fully with the entirety of yourself. We at NLBC take this command of Christ to heart and strive to love God with all of our hearts, soul, minds, and strength.
Love People.
Going along with Christ's answer to love the Lord God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, He also adds that loving your neighbor as yourself is also part of the most important command. (Matthew 22:37, Mark 12:30, and Luke 10:27) It is our goal to love not only one another well, but the community around us here at NLBC as well as the neighbors in our own lives.
Make Disciples
The command to make disciples comes from Matthew 28:19-20 as Jesus is ascending into Heaven. He commands His disciples to go and make other disciples. The disciples do this out of love and obedience to Christ and in the act of telling others about Him they are loving the people they are witnessing to. When we love God we obey His commands. When we obey His commands we love people. When we love people with the aim of obeying God we make disciples.
